Niki Mala presents her latest work in her solo exhibition “Interior Windows” at Alpha C.K. Art Gallery.
Leaving behind her usual oil on canvas work, Niki Mala turns to experimentation with plexiglass constructions to create a three dimensional works which express a woman’s internal emotions, both vulnerable and revealing. Through her work, the artist takes the viewer through a journey which breathes optimism and joy into the daily routines we all experience.
In this series of works, the artist uses the glass not just as a decorative motif but to symbolize a woman’s fragility and sensitivity. The figures in each work are realistically depicted and become a bridge the joins the past with the present.
The exhibition opens on Friday 30 May at 7:30 pm and continues through 14 June.
